Herbal Vinaigrette Dressing
A great delicious, nutritious salad dressing with no cholesterol, no fat and only 13 calories per 1 tablespoon. This low-sodium mix can be stored for up to six weeks.
Step 1: Prepare Herbal Salad Dressing Mix
Ingredients
1/4 cup parsley flakes
1 tablespoon fennel seeds,
2 tablespoons each dried crushed oregano, basil, and marjoram,
1 tablespoon dry mustard crumbled
11/2 teaspoons black pepper
2 tablespoons sugar
Directions:
Place all the ingredients in a 1-pint jar, cover tightly, and shake well to mix. Store in a cool, dark, dry place. Makes about 1 cup.
Step 2: Make Herbal Vinaigrette Dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together :
1 tablespoon Herbal Salad Dressing Mix
3/4 cup warm water
21/2 tablespoons tarragon vinegar or white wine vinegar
1 tablespoon olive oil and
1 crushed clove garlic.
Taste and add another 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of the Herbal Salad Dressing Mix if you want a stronger flavor. Let stand at room temperature at least 30 minutes before using, then whisk again.
Makes about 1 cup.
